The following protocols were created to meet the state of Illinois’ personal care service guidelines. We pledge to maintain a healthy work environment in an effort to curtail the transmission of Covid-19. The Browtique will continually monitor international (World Health Organization (WHO), federal (CDC), state, and local guidelines for changes in recommendations, cleaning strategies, and other best management practices.
Wellness Guidelines for Service Providers:
Take and record our temperature at the start of each work day.
Evaluate our health constantly, if we are sick stay home. If we have a temperature stay home. If someone at home is sick, stay home. If we have allergies and sneezing, stay home.
If we are experiencing a cough, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, fever of 100.4 degrees or above, chills, muscle pain, headache, sore throat, new loss of taste or smell, stay home & consult your physician.
Wear a face covering when out in public and maintain physical distancing.
Wash our hands when arriving at work, after each customer, after touching our face or face covering and when we leave work.
Wear gloves at all times. Change out gloves between customers and wash our hands.
Wear our face covering when working with clients and disinfect appropriately.
Let our superior know if we have concerns about the PPE that may be provided and that we properly instructed on how to use it.
Carry a towel, if urged to sneeze or cough, cover our nose, mouth and mask, attempt to delay the urge to sneeze or cough, immediately leave the building, wash our hands and face thoroughly before going back to work.
Maintain social distancing between co-workers throughout the workday and during our breaks.
Wellness Guidelines for Customers:
If you are sick stay home. If you have a temperature stay home. If someone in your house is sick, stay home. If you have allergies and can’t control sneezing, stay home. Reschedule your appointment to a later date
Do not enter the business until your service provider has notified you they’re ready.
Limit the items you touch within a store to the items you select to purchase.
Wear a face covering or something better if you have it.
Wash or sanitize your hands before and after you leave the building if possible.
Maintain a distance of at least 6 feet from other customers and other employees when walking throughout the salon to the extent possible.
Minimize the amount of personal items you bring inside a place of business.
Our cleaning & disinfection checklist:
Regular disinfection and cleaning methods have been implemented, including the regular sanitation of common high-touch areas after each client. All cleaning and disinfection products will be used exactly to their specifications to ensure effectiveness.
REMEMBER:
wash/sanitize your hands before & after putting on gloves
wear gloves while using disinfectants
disinfectant wipes must dry for 2-3 minutes to be effective
disinfectant solution should be changed daily
your tools need to soak in disinfectant solution/barbicide for at least 10 minutes in order to properly disinfect
soiled & disinfected tools should remain in separate, closed containers while not in use
wear your mask & eyewear at all times while working on clients & checking them out
DISINFECT THE FOLLOWING BETWEEN CLIENTS:
work station
treatment table
countertops
door handles
any other surfaces, light fixtures, or bottles you may have touched.

CLEANING YOUR TOOLS:
Wear gloves
Wash tools with brush & soap
Pat dry w/ paper towel
Soak in Barbicide for 10 minutes
Rinse
Allow to dry on silicone mat
END OF DAY:

light switches, door handles
sink, faucet, & handles
countertop & cabinet hardware
top & side of garbage can
dirty linens go in allocated bin by front door.
